Outpatient Support for Mental Health and Emotional Needs

I was impressed by the number of services available for youth with mental health and emotional needs. They serve children and youth ages three to 20 and provide individual, group and family therapy as well as case management services.

Family based intervention is provided in clients’ homes and serves youth and young adults starting from age two. Services include crisis intervention, parenting education and support, and advocacy. The goal is to help families stay together and reunify families where youths were removed from the home.

There are also Family Support Programs to help youth with mental health issues and emotional disturbances. A case manager provides access to treatment services and provides support for family stability.

Pathways to Success is a family focused program for youth under age 21 with complex behavioral health needs. The program connects families with community resources to help them create a system of support across home, school and the community.

School Based Therapy for Youth

I also noticed that the Association provides school based therapy in local school districts. This type of support helps youth get help in a familiar environment and avoids problems with transportation or scheduling.

The school based therapists can also refer young people to additional services and community resources.
