Childrens Home Devou Park Campus in Covington, Kentucky, is home to the organization’s administrative offices and a residential campus for adolescents. They offer therapeutic programs as well as educational and recreational services. Insurance is accepted. There are also sliding scales and financial assistance for those who qualify.

Evidence-based treatment philosophies including cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy are a part of their treatment programs. Trauma-informed residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment are all available. What stands out to me is that their targeted case management helps make sure all your services and treatment programming are the best for you from start to finish.

This beautiful park-like campus is surrounded by nature, parks with playground equipment, outdoor performance spaces and even a lake. There are also gorgeous grounds that include an outdoor basketball court and a fitness circuit training area.

Therapeutic Residential Program

There are three residential cottages that the youth in this program will have as their home away from home while receiving the treatment they need. Many innovative therapy programs are implemented here including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), The Seven Challenges, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Functional Family Therapy. They implement the therapy program that will work best for each child or adolescent’s unique situation and diagnosis.

I like that education is an important part of the program here. This includes academics and health education. Learning to identify emotions and regulate them will be a tool that participants can use in the future with family, school, work and all other areas of life.

Addiction treatment may include medication assisted treatment (MAT), psychotherapy, group therapy and family counseling. Youth have a strict schedule to follow and spend their time developing skills and confidence to set positive goals for the future.
