About A Womans Addiction Recovery Effort

A Woman's Addiction Recovery Effort (AWARE) is a women's residential addiction treatment center in Alford, Florida and part of the nonprofit Chemical Addictions Recovery Effort network.

AWARE offers residential treatment along with halfway/sober living support providing care for substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns.

The program stands out for its women-centered model that directly acknowledges and addresses the stigma many women face in recovery.

Residential Care for Women

I am impressed that AWARE provides residential treatment with a minimum of 8 weeks of care followed by an additional 3 months of halfway/sober living support.

Treatment includes individual, group, family and couples therapy sessions, educational programming, case management, relapse planning and 12-Step support.

As part of the broader CARE network clients can also access detox, outpatient services and medication-assisted treatment to help reduce withdrawal symptoms.

Infant Program Available

One features i appreciate is that AWARE specializes in women-focused addiction treatment in a therapeutic, home-like setting.

Through the Mother Infant Program babies can stay with their mothers during treatment, a track that typically lasts 6 months and can extend up to a year paired with dedicated case management support.

The facility features 11 country-themed suites in a comfortable, recovery-focused environment.
