About Hour House Adult Outpatient

Formerly known as Central East Alcoholism and Drug Council, Hour House Adult Outpatient provides outpatient recovery services to adults and adolescents in Mattoon, Illinois. They also offer gambling disorder treatment and DUI evaluations and risk education. They are licensed and receive funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services: Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery, as well as the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The organization is CARF accredited. Insurance is accepted, including Medicaid. If you’re uninsured they can also accept private pay and all major credit cards.

Admissions, Intake and Assessment

While everyone is able to seek treatment, they do have an admissions priority list. The order of admissions is pregnant women who are injecting drugs, pregnant women with a substance use disorder, individuals injecting drugs, postpartum women and women with children, people referred by the Division of Children and Family Services, those who receive TANF and individuals serving in the United States Armed Forces.

You will have a free intake screening conducted either in person or on the telephone. During that time they will let you know their requirements as well as provide a referral to another agency, if needed. This process will help determine your primary needs and strengths and can take up to an hour.

You’ll complete an assessment in person. This will cover all areas of your life to guide appropriate treatment. This appointment will take two hours, and family participation is highly encouraged.

Age and Gender Specific Treatment

Men, women and adolescents are able to receive outpatient treatment tailored to their needs. I do like that everyone is separated, this way issues that are gender and age specific can be addressed. With the outpatient services offered, you’ll attend individual, group and family counseling. You will also be able to continue working, attend school and take care of other responsibilities, as a flexible schedule will be provided.

Youth Prevention Program

Their prevention services focus on the youth and their families. The goal of this program is to reduce risk factors that a child may develop in adolescence. They work with the community to reduce substance use among youth.
