Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services Men’s Residential Program is located in Trumansburg, New York. Men are able to receive longer term substance use disorder treatment at this 60 bed facility. Medicaid is accepted, and self pay clients will be able to pay based on a discounted sliding fee scale.
Their goal is for you to gain the necessary skills needed to fight addiction, resist cravings and cope with difficult times. The length of stay can span from six months to 18 months, differing from person to person. I like the clinical services you will have access to such as family and individual counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
When you call for admissions, you will be asked a few questions. The staff will need you to be honest about your substance use, mental health and medical history. You will also go over the goals you would like to accomplish during your treatment.
Within your first 24 hours in treatment you will be pretty busy. You will complete all the necessary check ups, become established with your case manager and meet your addiction counselor. Your addiction counselor will be the person developing your treatment plan based on your intake assessment. You’ll also be paired with a mentor. The mentor will show you around the facility and help make your transition into treatment comfortable.
With the help of your primary counselor, you’ll be able to identify which of the therapy groups you will be participating in. I like that they have a wide variety of groups. An example of some of the many groups offered are early recovery, life skills, mature men, LGBTQ+, mental health recovery, addictive thinking, neurobiology of addiction and dialectical behavior therapy.
