About Senior Companion Program
Contact Catholic Human Services’ Prevention and Senior Services in Traverse City, Michigan, provides drug and alcohol outpatient recovery services to adults, adolescents, and families. The city is located on the shores of Grand Traverse Bay and is known for year-round outdoor activities. During your rehabilitation, you can visit beautiful beaches and enjoy scenic drives or hike alongside the Boardman Lake Trail.
The outpatient program is run by trained and certified clinical staff members who provide services for substance abuse disorders that complement a 12 Step program or other paths to recovery. They approach treatment from a holistic, whole person perspective, viewing the mind, body, and spirit as part of a healthy life.
Your program can include peer recovery coaches who are trained and state certified. This offers you a unique perspective. Your coach will stay in touch with you for as long as you find the support helpful.
They have prevention services for kids through their Up North partnership. This program focuses on using schools and communities as hubs to teach children about the dangers of drug abuse. They have education workshops and awareness programs that offer kids healthier ways of coping with stress than through drugs.
This center also has a unique peer program with senior volunteers. Retirees serve as mentors for other seniors and for kids in classrooms. That way, they make sure that youngsters and the elderly have a shoulder to lean on rather than cope through harmful means.
Whenever possible, they will bill your insurance for fees. If you are uninsured or underinsured, you may qualify for a sliding scale and there are times when they can access financial funds made by donors to help cover your treatment.
