Thunder Bay Community Health Service is a treatment facility for anyone suffering from opioid or other substance misuse disorders, as well as mental health conditions and co-occurring conditions. It’s part of the Catholic Human Services network. They use a combination of counseling and medication when needed to bring their patients to recovery in the simplest way possible. I really admired the simplicity of their treatment options and how they go straight to the point of the issue at hand. It’s located in Atlanta, Michigan.

Addiction & Behavioral Health

Their recovery and addiction services are at the outpatient level of care and include screening and prevention, individual therapy and group therapy, treatment for co-occurring disorders, and medication-assisted treatment that helps you detox without any severe withdrawal symptoms or cravings.

Their behavioral health services dive deeper into mental health and include comprehensive behavioral health assessments, counseling, crisis intervention and support services, care coordination with primary care providers, and confidential services. I’m impressed that their facility has other services unrelated to behavioral health, such as dentistry and optometry, in case you need a full spectrum of care and treatment while you’re there. They even have a radiology department and access to insurance enrollment.
