About Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities Family Counseling and Guidance Center offers outpatient counseling from master’s level counselors in Danvers, Massachusetts. They work with young children, transitional age young adults, adults, and older adults. For adults experiencing addiction, they offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) and addiction therapy.
One great thing I found about them is that they’re surrounded by opportunities to connect to nature and relax in the glorious outdoors. They’re located a short drive from the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, a great spot for extensive walking trails through lush forests, rolling meadows, and other types of habitats.
There are also several other outdoor areas nearby including Endicott Park which is filled with walking trails and gardens and the Danvers Rail Trail.
Integrated Addiction and Mental Health Care
The Family Counseling and Guidance Center uses an integrated dual diagnosis approach, addressing substance misuse and mental health concerns as a joint matter, rather than independent factors.
You can attend individual or group therapy to work through challenges you’re facing.
In conjunction with other evidence-based therapy methods, the staff use cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy to work through your emotions and actions in an objective, practical light. They then help you retrain your thought patterns so you can act in a way that aligns with your values and long-term life goals.
Specialized Programs for Specific Groups
Substance abuse often interacts with other concerns that impact your quality of life. I appreciate that The Family Counseling and Guidance Center has designed several specialty programs to address the unique challenges that people in certain groups commonly face.
For those with traumatic memories or PTSD, they can help you work through heavy emotional responses and help you process past events. For children with serious emotional disturbance (SED), they offer play therapy.
Amenities
Business centers are a preferred amenity in many mental health and addiction recovery facilities and typically feature secure, high-speed internet, computer stations, printers, and related business technologies. Business centers are designed to enable professionals and students to continue to participate in work or school activities without leaving the treatment facility.
Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Residential drug rehabs are often the preferred method of treatment, as they can be tailored to meet specific needs, offer focused therapeutic care, and provide the necessary tools to sustain recovery.

Levels of Care

During this time, you will attend therapy sessions and support group meetings, for ongoing accountability and development of sober-living skills.
If you meet the diagnostic criteria for two or more conditions, you have a dual diagnosis. Massachusetts dual diagnosis treatment is designed to address both conditions simultaneously, for improved recovery outcomes.
