About Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County Middletown Clinic
Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County Middletown Clinic is located on North Street in Middletown, New York. This location offers chemical dependency and co-occurring disorder treatment programs for teens and adults. They also have social and human services, employee assistance programs and a housing resource center. The clinic accepts most private insurance. They take Medicaid, TRICARE and juvenile justice and state corrections funding. They also take non Medicaid state, child and family services funds and welfare.
The substance use treatment programs at this location are offered on an outpatient basis. Services include group, family and individual therapy. The focus in individual therapy is on eliminating or reducing substance use while building skills, adhering to a recovery plan, and achieving better social, family, and professional/education outcomes. Group therapy provides supportive and social reinforcement for recovery.
A unique aspect of this program is the community outreach team that works to provide treatment to individuals in underserved communities. Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPA) bring services to those in need. If you’re seeking substance use treatment but can’t get to the clinic, they’ll meet you wherever you are, including in a library, park or shelter. Peers offer assistance that includes transportation, shelter, food and clothing.
The counselors in the substance use disorder treatment programs are attentive to individual needs. They understand how sexual identity, language and culture play an integral part in the treatment and recovery process. They understand the correlation between trauma and child abuse with substance use and mental health disorders and work to identify where these issues are at play.
The trauma informed services include assessments, psychiatric consultations and mental health medications for co-occurring mental health disorders if appropriate. You’ll participate in group, family and individual therapy as well as psychoeducational and specialized groups. There are special therapy groups for those with co-occurring disorders.
The clinic also offers the RESTART program. This is for students with addictions who need an education alternative to traditional schooling. The program includes therapy, daily structure and substance use treatment.
Clinic services are offered in English and Spanish. The clinic is open five days a week and four evenings a week.
