The Matrix Model for Youth Addiction Treatment
I was interested in the unique approach to substance use treatment that Casa Pacifica provides for adolescents. The program lasts for 20 weeks and includes group classes on recovery skills and relapse prevention group sessions.
They also provide individual and family counseling as well as family support and education. Because the whole family is affected by substance use, helping the family understand how addiction works and the best way to support their child in recovery can help repair relationships and create healthy boundaries. The substance use treatment program also includes attendance at 12 Step programs, plus drug screenings and reinforcement for maintaining sobriety and continuing in the program.
