About Latino Commission Casa Aviva Womens Recovery Home
The Latino Commission Casa Aviva Women’s Recovery Home in San Francisco, California, is a women’s recovery home that welcomes women with babies. This Commission has been supporting clients dealing with addiction for over 30 years. They provide a non-medical, culturally-centered model for recovery. Casa Aviva is one of three of the organization’s residential homes in San Francisco.
Four Stage Recovery Home in San Francisco
Casa Aviva offers a four to six month residential program that helps women progress step-by-step toward recovery. The home is modern and well-kept and conveniently located in the Mission District. I think they chose a great location for this recovery home since it’s within walking distance to parks, shops and steps away from public transit stops.
During the first 30 days, women focus on individual therapy, bonding with other residents and restoring their latino culture, value and traditions. Phase 2 can last 30-60 days and focuses on setting goals and digging into the root of your addictive behaviors. You’ll focus on group counseling, completing written assignments and life-skills training.
I really appreciate how the third phase helps you prepare to transition back to society, since this can be a difficult process for many women in recovery. You’ll focus on vocational training and networking, family reunification and strategies for staying sober. Finally, you’ll celebrate your hard work with a graduation ceremony. At that point you’ll step down to transitional living or an aftercare program.
