About Capital Counseling

Capital Counseling is an outpatient addiction treatment center in Albany, New York providing comprehensive substance use and mental health services for adults in recovery.

The center offers OASAS certified programs including outpatient rehabilitation, medication assisted treatment with Suboxone and methadone and specialized counseling for individuals, families, and groups.

With a focus on evidence based care and community reintegration we note that Capital Counseling supports clients facing opioid use disorder, co-occurring mental health challenges, and justice involvement.

Addiction Treatment Programs at Capital Counseling

Treatment begins with an assessment to determine the most appropriate level of care, which may include Outpatient Rehabilitation for substance use disorders or Medication Assisted Treatment combining buprenorphine or methadone with counseling.

The center's Opioid Treatment Program provides methadone dosing alongside individual and group support for clients with opioid dependency. Clients receive individual counseling to address addiction and underlying personal concerns, and family and couples therapy to rebuild relationships.

The specialized groups I found that are offered include DWI education, anger management, domestic violence counseling, and women specific support. The Re-Entry Program serves justice involved individuals transitioning from incarceration while outpatient mental health services address co-occurring conditions including anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD.
