About CADAS Scholze Center Adolescent Residential

CADAS has provided substance use treatment, assessment and prevention for moe than 50 years. They offer a variety of programs to meet the recovery needs of the people they serve. Scholze Adolescent Center is a residential recovery facility for males and females aged 13 to 18 years located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. . The program helps young people affected by substance use regain hope for a happier, healthier and more productive life.

The facility sits along a quiet valley road close to the Tennessee River. Various natural attractions nearby enhance its appeal. Some of these are the Coolidge Park, Moccasin Bend National Archeological District and the Ruby Falls & Lookout Mountain. These are cool places to unwind during recreational periods.

The location is easy to access via Highway 27 just minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport is just 10 miles away. This makes it accessible for out of town visitors as well. Essentially you’ll benefit from the therapeutic appeal of its natural setting while also having access to urban convenience.

The facility has 40 beds with residents able to stay up to 45 days. A ratio of one staff to eight adolescents means you’ll be able to receive support when needed. It also allows them to address every aspect of your life. This includes physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Clinical psychologists are available onsite to offer psychiatric evaluation and treatment support for co-occurring disorders.

Treatment follows a personalized care plan based on each resident’s assessed need during intake. This plan is reviewed weekly to accommodate changing needs as you progress in your recovery journey.

The main program involves small therapy groups alongside individual counseling and psychoeducational classes. The latter includes life skills and relapse prevention education. They even have video and lecture materials focused on substance abuse.

You’ll participate in therapeutic work activities and meditation/relaxation classes as well. Motivational interviewing is incorporated into the program to help you resolve any doubts about healing and strengthen your motivation to change.

A co-occurring therapy group is available to support those dealing with both substance misuse and mental health issues. They also offer gender group counseling. Recreation activities are an important component of the curriculum. You participate in indoor climbing walls, gym sessions and walks. You can also visit some of the natural attractions around to enjoy some nature therapy.

Family involvement is highly prioritized. This makes sense since positive family dynamics strengthen your support and aid recovery. Thus the program includes both specialized family program activities and individual family therapy.

Residents all benefit from traditional classroom activities and academic programs via the Scholze Center School. This is an accredited school licensed by the Hamilton County Board of Education and the State of Tennessee. You’re required to complete educational assessments upon admission to determine the appropriate grade level to enroll in this school.

You’ll attend school each day during the week based on your assessed grade. This ensures you don’t fall behind in your schoolwork while at the center. Most residents post multiyear gains in reading and math skills during their stay.

Aftercare support is offered for one full year after your graduation with meetings held every Wednesday evening at the Scholze Center. Those residing outside the area are set up with a local 12 step group, individual therapy and family programs.
