About CADAS (Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services)

CADAS, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a comprehensive addiction treatment center with outpatient and residential treatment programs alike. They have outpatient treatment including an intensive outpatient program and medication assisted treatment with buprenorphine and naltrexone to ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings.

Family Residential Living Program for Addiction

One unique program I noticed is called Family Way, which offers a supportive living environment for individuals in recovery from alcohol and drug use. Residents usually stay onsite for 12 to 18 months, with a two year maximum stay. While in residence, clients receive individual and group counseling as well as life skills training and parenting classes.

The program utilizes a wide range of social services aside from counseling, including case management and discharge planning, court services and assistance with housing.

A Family Centered Approach To Recovery

I’m particularly impressed with this facility’s emphasis on reuniting and strengthening families. They have programs that cater specifically to single parents, offering personalized support for single pregnant women, single mothers and single fathers with children up to age 11.

Housing at the facility consists of 24 furnished apartments for parents and their children. Around the clock site supervision ensures safety. There’s a family coordinator available as well, providing referrals to Early Childhood Intervention and the Head Start Program.

Alumni reviews of this facility are generally positive, praising the teamwork of their nurturing staff and highlighting the success of their treatment programs.

CADAS accepts most insurance plans, and state grants are available for eligible Tennesseans.

Family Friendly Location Near the Tennessee River

The facility’s location stands out to me for its close proximity to family friendly attractions. Nearby Coolidge Park offers green spaces for walking and recreational activities.

The Tennessee Riverwalk, a scenic path along the Tennessee River, provides a serene environment for stretching your legs during treatment. You may like to take in The Chattanooga Zoo for family fun or visit The Northshore District for shopping, dining and access to community resources.
