About Burning Tree Ranch
The 3,000-acre Burning Tree Ranch is located in Kaufman, Texas. They offer an intensive long term residential treatment program for mental health and addiction concerns. They are unique in that they are designed to meet the needs of adults with a history of relapse. They also specialize in recognizing undiagnosed disorders and providing co-occurring diagnosis treatment. Their tiered program focuses on internal changes and developing personal responsibility. It also includes aftercare. They use a holistic approach that includes a number of therapy options, including a 12 Step immersion option. Note that they do not accept insurance.
Relapse can feel like a failure, but it doesn't (and shouldn't) mean the end of your recovery journey. Burning Tree Ranch has developed a highly personalized treatment plan that specifically caters to those who have suffered chronic relapse. What sets it apart is its intense focus on what makes you, you. The time staff spend learning about your experiences helps further develop the program to address your needs and reinforce the skills and characteristics you need to maintain your sobriety. They have a number of traditional and experiential therapies to choose from such as equine therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy. So you don't feel like you have to fit into a pre-made mold.
I especially like that they don't adhere to a strict time table. Your progress isn't measured in days spent in treatment, and you aren't expected to be finished by an arbitrary date. This approach ensures you spend the time you need learning new concepts and developing new skills without feeling rushed. This is especially important for those who have relapsed multiple times and may need more time overcoming perceived shortcomings or obstacles.
