Brownsville Community Residential Center (BCRC) is a division of BMS that provides residential addiction treatment for adults aged 18 to 65. Their structured recovery program runs for three to nine months, depending on the severity of the substance use disorder. The clinical team determines the most appropriate level of care following a comprehensive mental health assessment. The treatment includes individual and group therapy, family counseling, medication management, skill development, psychiatric care, peer support, medication assisted treatment, self help groups, and aftercare support. Residents will learn vital skills to achieve and sustain recovery, such as relapse prevention strategies, communication skills, and recovery support tools. Prior to discharge, residents work with their counselor to devise a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention plan, which may include community based referrals and aftercare support at mutual aid recovery groups or follow up appointments with their counselor on an outpatient basis.
To be accepted into their program BCRC requires residents to have completed a 28 day program. They accept Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare, and various other payment options.
