About Brothers Keepers East End Henrico Campus
If you’re headed east of central Richmond, Virginia, you’ll find the East End Henrico Campus of Brothers’ Keeper Inc. (BKI) just across the road from Fairfield Middle School. This location is one of three locations where BKI provides services. Here, they offer mental health counseling, life skill building, and counseling for adolescents and adults struggling with substance use disorders.
The care they give is heavily geared toward helping children and teens with severe behavioral challenges get the attention and interventions they need in order to adapt and thrive at home, school, and eventually at their places of employment.
Although most of BKI’s services are appropriate for young children, their substance use counseling is only available from age 16 through to adulthood.
Sensible and Flexible Substance Use Counseling
One of the first parts of BKI’s substance counseling that stands out to me is that, though they have a variety of modalities at their disposal, they carefully consider which tools to use depending on each client’s circumstances.
They can offer individual counseling, group counseling, and counseling with family and other family support services. In each case, they’ll keep one eye on helping address addictive behaviors while also focusing on helping their clients develop other skills that are generally needed to cope in a school, family, or workplace environment.
Providing an Array of Behavioral Health Services
Their next service that strikes me as valuable is their outpatient mental health program. This program serves individuals, couples, and families by helping with a variety of mental health concerns, including anger management, anxiety, depression, and grief counseling.
The expertise that makes this service possible allows BKI to provide care even in cases where there are co-occurring mental or behavioral health issues.
Addiction Treatment Programs
When individuals choose a young adult program in Virginia, they have the opportunity to participate in a supportive and safe program specifically designed for people in their teens and twenties. Treatment helps them make choices during this stage of life that lead to healthy, long-term recovery.
An adult program in Virginia is often the ideal solution for individuals struggling with substance use. Care is available at different intensity levels, based on individual situations, and a variety of treatment methods are used, to meet each person’s unique needs.
Levels of Care
Virginia outpatient rehab typically requires a few hours of treatment per week. You’ll be asked to attend group meetings such as NA or AA as well as one-on-one sessions with a recovery expert. This treatment may last for a few weeks or many months, depending on your needs.
Substance abuse and mental illness often go hand in hand. When they co-occur, it is crucial to treat both disorders. A Virginia dual diagnosis treatment center offers the integrated approach necessary to address all issues involved.
