About Bobby E Wright CBHC

In the Windy City of Chicago, Illinois, you’ll find the Bobby E Wright Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center. This address is their headquarters, where they offer many of their services. This office can also refer you to other BEW services in the city as needed, including substance use treatment.

They accept Medicaid coverage and may also take other insurance plans. You can talk to them about additional payment arrangements as well.

Residential and Outpatient Services for Addiction Treatment

The residential treatment program is within walking distance of the headquarters building. They provide a structured environment for those with mental health and/or co occurring substance use disorders. The program includes treatment and helps with life skills and independent living.

They also have intensive (IOPs) and general outpatient treatment for substance use disorder. I’m impressed that these include individual and group therapy and help in creating a relapse prevention plan.

There is a DUI program for those who need court ordered assessments, education and treatment. The program is for adults and teens and the education program will be based on the results of the assessment.

Prevention Programs for Youth and Psychosocial Rehabilitation

I like that beyond treatment, they also have prevention programs for grades 6-12 in local schools. They help families understand how to prevent problem substance use and also help families of high risk youth connect with community resources and social services.

The psychosocial rehabilitation program addresses crisis situations and provides intervention to help people move beyond the immediate issue and into stability. The program includes unique aspects like creative arts and problem-solving skills as well as goal setting and independent living strategies.

Art Therapy

Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction t...reatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy. Benefits of art/music therapy include lowering stress and anxiety, promoting healthy neurochemicals, and providing stress relief.
