About New Vista

New Vista has clinics in 17 counties in Central Kentucky that provide outpatient treatment services for mental health and addiction as well as care for developmental disabilities. The Powell County clinic is located in Stanton, Kentucky. They have crisis support, medication assisted treatment (MAT) and drug court treatment.

The clinic accepts Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance plans. They also have reduced fees based on family size and income for those without insurance. I noticed you can make limited evening appointments for outside office hours.

Outpatient Treatment in Powell County

The clinic offers general outpatient treatment, and clients can also access the intensive outpatient program (IOP) through telehealth.

Services in the Powell County clinic include assessments, along with evidence-based individual and group therapy. They also have family therapy to heal relationships damaged by substance use and teach loved ones how to set healthy boundaries so they can become allies in your recovery.

I noticed they also provide school based therapy options, including Seeking Safety to address trauma and substance use in adolescents ages 12 to 17. Seeking Safety includes group therapy to help youth develop constructive coping skills, avoid substance use and learn resilience in adversity.

Drug Court Treatment for Adults

Drug court involves people charged with nonviolent crimes related to substance use disorders. Treatment can be in lieu of jail time, or the court may dismiss the charges once the treatment is complete, depending on the program.

New Vista is also adding peer support services to the drug court program in specific counties. Peers provide emotional support and encouragement and can connect clients to specific resources and encourage them to follow through with the assistance.

Amenities

Private Rehab

Private drug rehab provides a comfortable, secure environment that allows you to focus on doing the work to get your life back on track. Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.

Art Therapy

Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction treatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy. Benefits of art/music therapy include lowering stress and anxiety, promoting healthy neurochemicals, and providing stress relief.

Day School

Addiction treatment programs provide an opportunity to get your life back on track with access to school classes or college courses. Whether you want to finish your GED or go back to school to learn a new trade, facilities often enlist tutors and teachers who are certified or licensed by the state to oversee self-study or distance-learning education.
