About Bessemer VA Clinic

Located in Bessemer, Alabama, the Birmingham VAMC Bessemer CBOC provides mental health services and behavioral health care for Veterans. They offer outpatient treatment services. All treatment is confidential and begins with a consultation and evaluation. Same day help is provided if needed.
VAMC Bessemer CBOC treats dual diagnosis and mental health conditions such as PTSD, depression, grief, anger, trauma, and other challenges. Psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression are also treated. Those with self-harming behaviors or aggressive behaviors may need additional care than what can be provided on an outpatient basis. Individual therapy, group therapy, and if appropriate, family or couples therapy may also be provided. As a part of the VA center, medical concerns and other treatments may also be provided to address the entirety of each person’s situation. For those who are unable to attend in-person treatment, telehealth can be provided if it’s appropriate for the level of care needed.
