About Beacon Center

Beacon Center Downtown Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, is an outpatient clinic for the treatment of substance use disorder and mental health conditions. They serve men and women affected by substance misuse. They also address co-occurring disorders. This is when a client struggles with both mental health and substance misuse simultaneously. Their program is licensed by the New York State’s OASAS and OMH. They’re known for delivering quality, confidential and individualized treatment.

Their outpatient care for substance misuse begins with comprehensive assessments to create personalized treatment plans. This is followed by evidence based therapies, individual counseling and group sessions. The group sessions cut across various recovery aspects such as early recovery, chronic relapse and continuing recovery groups. There’s also a separate men and women group as well as adolescent and young adult groups. The sessions are designed to help you address the underlying root of your behavioral challenges including substance misuse.

You’ll learn to manage anger and stress better, communicate effectively and build solid coping strategies. This fosters sound coping and relapse prevention mechanisms which are essential for lasting sobriety. They also offer family programming to rebuild trust, improve communication and mend relationships between you and your loved ones. A positive family dynamic creates a supportive network to enhance your recovery journey.

Treatment for co-occurring conditions is available via their compass program. This program involves psychiatric care, evaluation and medication management in addition to addiction therapy. They even offer a specialized outpatient program called Safe Harbor for individuals involved with the criminal justice system.

Their clinically proven recovery approach incorporates medication assisted treatment. This is possibly the most effective method in treating addiction to opioids, alcohol and stimulants. This technique combines FDA approved medicine with counseling to support recovery. The facility offers Suboxone and Vivitrol for opioid misuse and Naltrexone for alcohol misuse. These medicines minimize withdrawal symptoms and curb cravings. This enables you to undergo other therapeutic interventions. This technique is administered by a skilled clinical team that prioritizes safety and appropriate medication management. They maintain a suitable level of care to help you manage triggers and cravings while promoting overall recovery.

This facility may also offer urinalysis testing and peer recovery support services. All services are available in both traditional and intensive outpatient settings. The latter is relatively structured and involves more intense therapy. You can expect to participate in up to nine hours of group sessions weekly. The general outpatient program may require just 90 minutes of therapy weekly. The great thing about outpatient recovery programs is their flexibility. Sessions are tailored to fit your schedule. You won’t have to disrupt your work or daily routine to receive treatment.
