About Bannock Youth Foundation MK Place
Located in Pocatello, Idaho, Bannock Youth Foundation is an organization that offers an adolescent substance use disorder treatment program known as MK Place. The program specializes in residential and outpatient treatment services. The staff can conduct an assessment to determine the best placement for your needs.
Treatment in a Therapeutic Community
The residential program is a level 3.5 medium intensity treatment facility designed for adolescents between the ages of 14 and 17. One thing I like that MK Place does is coordinate with Idaho Connects Online School to help adolescents get school credits while they’re in treatment.
Those credits can be transferred to any Idaho school they go to after leaving the program. Something else I noticed about this facility is there are no physicians or psychiatrists on site. It’s necessary for clients to have their withdrawal symptoms managed before starting treatment. The staff members who will provide you assistance include licensed professional counselors and addiction counselors. They’ll help you stabilize symptoms, improve your ability to engage in daily tasks, learn how to use recovery skills and sharpen your social skills.
Evidence Based Practices To Foster Recovery
The practices that you can expect to be used in your treatment include trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Matrix Model and Seeking Safety. These treatment approaches can help you learn coping skills for emotional regulation and develop healthy stress management techniques.
Healing Nature Near Pocatello
Located on South 19th Avenue, the facility is surrounded by nature areas that give clients an opportunity to enjoy alternative stress relieving activities. You can enjoy water activities at Snake River or take a nice hike at Butterfly Bottom.
