About Banner Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic

Banner Behavioral Health is a large healthcare network featuring 29 hospitals, as well as outpatient care clinics. The Chandler, Arizona outpatient clinic offered outpatient and intensive outpatient programs for individuals with substance use disorder and co occurring mental health disorders. They offered medication assisted treatment or MAT for detoxification and maintenance.

They treated adolescents ages 13 to 17 and adults ages 18 and older. The programs were co-ed. The facility accepted insurance from most major providers. The clinic was easily accessible from major roadways. I see that this clinic is now permanently closed, although the Banner network still has other facilities in the area.

Family Involvement in Addiction Treatment

It struck me that the clinicians emphasized family involvement, especially in the adolescent treatment tracks. The adolescent programs included weekly family therapy sessions. The facility had mixed reviews from clients, and there was some negative feedback regarding the lack of depth of the program.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Because the facility was part of the larger network, they were able to offer a variety of treatments to their clients. For individuals with treatment resistant depression, the network offered transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Many clients find relief from long term depression after multiple sessions of TMS.
