About Bakersfield Recovery Services – Jason’s Retreat

Jason’s Retreat is a sober living home for men in Bakersfield, California. They can take in up to 30 adult men at a time. Their treatment is based on the 12 step principles. You’ll be treated with empathy and caring. Your treatment is aimed to empower you to make the changes you need to.

You’ll be welcomed into a home with a large kitchen and communal dining space. Sober living gives you structure and accountability. You’ll have access to counselors who’ll give you the support and help you need.

Sober living accommodation gives you a safe place to stay with others in recovery. Through group meetings and therapy, you’ll build healthy relationships. The camaraderie can give you the courage you need to stay on your sober journey.

If you’re in early recovery, you’ll be involved in intensive outpatient sessions. You’ll learn about addiction and how it affects you. They’ll teach you to recognize your triggers. You’ll be given tools to help you cope with challenges and stress without needing chemicals. There’ll also be sessions on how to avoid relapsing.

They value family and place a high priority on working toward healthy family relationships. You’ll be encouraged to get involved with the community. As you heal and recover, you’re able to help others break free from addiction.

I like that their outings include activities like baseball, visits to water parks and walks along the ocean boardwalk. An important part of adjusting to sober living is remembering that life is worth living. Outings such as these really help.

Those who’ve been through the program describe the staff as helpful and caring. Others say it’s a great place for getting sober and learning to live that way. Some speak of the people there as a true family and say their experience of living there was awesome.
