About AWARE Billings
AWARE is a nonprofit mental health and addiction treatment group with an office in Billings, Montana. They have general outpatient programs for people of all ages. Co-occurring disorder care is also available at this office. Those receiving treatment at this location are supported with wraparound services.
If you're worried that you cannot afford their services, they do offer a sliding fee scale. You'll receive a personalized treatment plan that reflects your needs and concerns.
This is a general outpatient clinic, meaning you'll have regularly scheduled appointments but will continue to live at home. Treatment like this is less restrictive and ideal for those with mild symptoms. But they do have residential care for those with more acute symptoms.
If an assessment determines you're a good fit for the program, you'll have regular meetings with your care team. During these sessions, you'll work on identifying strengths and weaknesses so you can develop the appropriate skills so you can live a sober, independent life. AWARE offers a high level of support, including case management and wraparound services that can include job prep, to ensure you have the help you need when you need it outside the office.
A number of therapy options are available, including recreational therapy. This can include simple exercise and fitness routines to more strenuous hikes and yoga through their mind-body wellness program. They also use applied behavioral analysis for kids and teens to help them find healthier ways to cope with stress so they don’t get started with drugs.
AWARE is special in that it offers telehealth services, too. Telehealth allows you to attend sessions remotely. Telehealth is a powerful tool that can keep you in touch with your treatment plan and care team when outside circumstances would otherwise prevent you from visiting the center. It's great to have in the toolbelt (even if you don't end up using it) because you can never predict when something will keep you away.
