About Wellvance

Wellvance is a behavioral health and community outreach organization that serves people in Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Counties with a satellite office in West Branch, Michigan. Wellvance has four offices across the region. Along with providing substance use disorder (SUD) treatment as a part of its behavioral health program, they offer care for mental illnesses, developmental disabilities, and emotional disturbance for children.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Wellvance doesn’t just treat SUDs, but does have the ability to provide this care if you need it. Your first step begins with a screening to determine if you’re battling only SUD or if you’ll need dual diagnosis support for other mental health illnesses. SUD treatment may include medication assisted treatment if necessary to help you safely wean off of harmful substances.

You may also need to take advantage of the inpatient program if your addiction is more severe. Alternatively, you can opt for partial hospitalization or outpatient care once your condition is stabilized, you’re sober, and you have worked through their therapeutic program long enough to utilize the tools that can prevent relapse.

I think it’s helpful that if necessary, Wellvance can also refer you to local community programs that can help you continue your counseling, peer support, and get you back on your feet.

Harm Reduction for Drug Use

Wellvance wants to help you get sober but they also recognize the importance of harm reduction in the meantime too. For that reason, I appreciate that they have free Narcan kits available which can be lifesaving in an opioid overdose.

Participants must have Medicaid, MiChild or Healthy Michigan plans to access Wellvance’s services.
