Treatment Programs at Atrium Health
Treatment can begin in the twenty four hour psychiatric emergency department or the eleven bed medically monitored detox unit, where withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines and other substances is safely managed.
I think it's important to know that clients may then transition to inpatient treatment on one of the specialized adult or adolescent units, or step down to partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient programming.
Programs include individual and group therapy, medication management and structured twelve week outpatient tracks grounded in twelve step recovery principles. Evidence based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing address both addiction and co-occurring disorders including depression and anxiety, PTSD and bipolar disorder, with aftercare planning and relapse prevention integrated throughout.
