About Atlanta Mission Fuqua Hall

Atlanta Mission is a Christian provider of services for homeless people in the Atlanta, Georgia, area. They’re a Christ-centered community organization working to end homelessness. They provide beds, meals, counseling sessions and life skills classes. They’re one of Atlanta's largest providers of services to homeless men women and children. One of their many programs is transitional housing.

Transitional housing bridges the gap between homelessness and permanent housing. This is a short-term, temporary place for people who need structure and support to get their lives back on track.

Atlanta Mission runs two transitional housing programs for men. Fuqua Hall is one of them. This complex has 92 single-unit apartments for eligible men. Each apartment has a single bedroom kitchen and private washroom. You'll have the independence of your own space while still being connected to your peers and Atlanta Mission staff.

To be eligible for this transitional housing, you need to either work full-time, attend school or volunteer in the community. There are plenty of places to visit or volunteer, and you might find yourself at the Coca Cola museum across the street or at the aquarium in Pemberton Park.

Men can participate in this housing program for six months or more. During this time you will get help with education like completing your GED, becoming eligible to work, and getting support by participating in substance abuse recovery programs. Their life skills classes can guide you to rebuild relationships and find healthier means to cope with stress instead of turning to drugs.

At the beginning of your stay, you'll set some goals. You'll graduate from Fuqua Hall when you successfully complete those goals. Atlanta Mission staff will be with you throughout the journey to keep you accountable and help you overcome obstacles.
