About Ascension Seton Shoal Creek
Ascension Seton Shoal Creek was a nonprofit behavioral health treatment hospital. They were based in Austin, Texas. Services included inpatient treatment for adolescents and adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. Outpatient treatment programs were also available.
The hospital accepted insurance from most private providers, as well as VA funds. They offered an income based sliding fee scale for uninsured clients. I think it’s important to note that the hospital transitioned all its behavioral health services in 2024 to Cross Creek Hospital, also in Austin.
Treating Process Addictions
One unique aspect of this hospital I noticed was its process addiction program. The treatment team focused not only on drugs but also on internet addiction and gambling disorders. The staff provided a comprehensive treatment approach that addressed underlying mental health issues contributing to both substance use and addiction.
Home Like Environment
The facility offered a private residential environment. The setting was home like and included some premium amenities, such as a recreation room and a music room. The facility had mixed reviews, with some former clients noting the amazing staff and excellent care, while others had some negative experiences.
