About Ascensa Health

Ascensa Health, which was formerly St. Judes Recovery Center, is an addiction treatment center in Atlanta, Georgia. They offer a broad spectrum of care from medical detox and residential care to outpatient programs and aftercare support. Services include medication assisted treatment (MAT).

They serve everyone, even if you don’t have insurance. They can accept insurance plans, and there is also state funding available.

Medical Detox and Residential Care in Atlanta

Many people start the treatment process with medically supervised detox. Ascensa has a 24 bed detox unit with 24/7 monitoring to help you manage withdrawal symptoms during detox. You receive medication and nutritious meals in a safe environment.

If appropriate, the next step is residential care. They have separate facilities for men and women and provide individual and group therapy, educational groups, MAT, life skills and health and wellness services.

One thing I noticed is that the residential program prepares you for independent living after graduation. They provide employment support and family services to help you transition into recovery in a stable way.

Outpatient Treatment and Ongoing Support

The outpatient programs provide services similar to residential care, but you go home each night. They have intensive and general programs. I appreciate that after treatment, they have aftercare support such as ongoing group therapy and MAT services.
