About Ascend Recovery

Ascend Recovery offers a three-level drug and alcohol rehab program beginning with residential treatment. They’re located in American Fork, Utah, at the base of the picturesque Wasatch front, just south of Salt Lake City. They help clients reach one full year of being clean and sober and then support their recovery for the rest of their lives.

They accept many insurance providers as well as self pay. They also have some scholarship assistance available.

Step One of their program begins with the Lake House close by Utah Lake. This is a rigorous program where clients will join in group and individual therapy, will meet weekly with a psychiatrist and participate in experiential therapies. These might include art therapy, equine therapy and a high ropes course.

Their program also focuses on wellness therapies which include nutrition, exercise, and amino acid therapy. These therapies will help you get rid of cravings, increase your energy and mood, and help you sleep. You can climb ropes, make pottery, and train and care for horses. In all these programs, you’ll learn how to fuel your body with nourishing foods and interests and use exercise to strengthen your body and clear your mind.

The 12 Step program will be woven into the healing work done at the Lake House. They also have a family program to include your loved ones in your recovery. Each month, they run two weekend family workshops. I like how often family members are invited to show up and support your recovery.

Unlike some programs that give you aftercare for a year, Ascend Recovery gives you lifetime access to their alumni program. Graduates get unlimited access to alumni services at no charge.
