Located on 16th Avenue in a semi-suburban area of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Area Substance Abuse Counsel Main Campus helps individuals begin their journey to addiction recovery. Providing Relief Through Proven Medication

ASAC’s counselors work with nurses and physicians to determine if medication assisted treatment (MAT) is the right option for your needs. After an assessment confirms you’ll benefit from the treatment, you’ll be administered medication such as naltrexone, buprenorphine, or methadone.

Naltrexone can help to reduce the euphoric effects of opioids and also reduce your desire to use. Buprenorphine and methadone are used so you can manage your withdrawal symptoms and cravings. As your body stabilizes, you’ll participate in counseling to address the mental and emotional issues related to your addiction.
