Army Substance Abuse Program ASAP

Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) is located in Huntsville, Alabama. They provide substance use disorder detox services and outpatient care to those struggling with mental health issues and substance addictions. 

They are located on the military campus of the Redstone Arsenal, not far from the US Space & Rocket Center and close to I-565 for easy access to and from the facility. They are also just west of downtown Huntsville and near several area hotels.

Specializes in Alcohol Addiction Treatment Through Therapy and Counseling

ASAP specializes in drug and alcohol addiction treatment, providing several levels of therapy and counselors to their clients. They also provide treatment services for opioid addiction, without the use of medication to assist with withdrawal management. However, you may be able to work with your PCP or another clinic to receive medication while concurrently receiving therapy and counseling at ASAP.

Does Not Require Military Affiliation 

The facility is operated by the U.S. Department of Defense. However, they do not seem to require military affiliations to receive care at ASAP. They offer counseling and therapy services for families, individuals, groups and couples. 

Additionally, ASAP provides you with aftercare support to ensure you continue on the right path following the completion of the program. They also provide experiential therapy.

Aftercare Support With Referrals

ASAP’s aftercare program includes referrals to additional educational programs that may support you in your recovery. They also offer access to prevention programs and planning for discharge, including support groups and services that may be available to you within your community. They will also provide you with access to relapse prevention services to ensure your recovery has the best outcome and that you can meet your goals of sobriety and a healthier lifestyle.
