About ACC Detroit Wayne County Mental Health Services

ACC serves Arab American, Chaldean and other residents of the region. This location at 62 West Seven Mile Road, offers multiple outpatient programs.

Wraparound Services and Recreational Programs for Youth
The thing that makes this program stand out to me is the focus on young people. They have wraparound services for young people with emotional or behavioral concerns. Working with community providers, families and schools they help youth with everything from substance use treatment to juvenile justice involvement.
The recreational program is another unique element. They use the program to cater to at-risk youth to keep them safe during free time, especially if the parents don’t get home until later in the evening.
Recreation includes basketball camps and a travel basketball team, weekly field trips, community service and motivational speakers. I like that the youth also have an opportunity to be mentored one on one, and there’s a fatherhood program for at-risk males through age 17.
