About Antelope Valley Rehabilitation Centers
Based in Acton, California, Antelope Valley Rehab Center (AVRC), also known Acton Rehab, is a now defunct medical and behavioral support facility. Once part of a system of several nonprofit support facilities, these are now permanently closed.
This particular location used to serve clients of all ages, with addiction treatment services specifically available to individuals aged 18 and older. Medi-Cal was accepted, while private insurance acceptance was limited. I do like that sliding scale fee structures were in place, though, for individuals struggling with financial hardship, and steps were taken to help clients access various funding options.
Support Provided for Broad Wellness Needs
Once upon a time, you would have been able to access various support services here for social, mental, behavioral, and medical concerns. Child abuse services were offered, along with health services, and I found that they specifically have support for individuals who have or may have have HIV or AIDS. Drug rehab services were also provided through both residential and outpatient treatment programs.
If you were seeking sobriety, medically supervised detox services were available to support you through withdrawal management.
Treatment programming was structured and gender-specific, and included both individual and group therapy sessions, along with assessments to determine your unique needs and craft your tailored care plan. Education and workshops covering life skills, recovery resources, and relapse prevention were also held here. Aftercare was also available for individuals transitioning back to independent living post-recovery.
The Future of AVRC
Since its closure, the city of Acton has been looking to repurpose these facilities, specifically this one on Arrastre Canyon Road. It’s believed that they’d like to provide further mental health and addiction treatment services, though, since AVRC is no more, these will likely be offered under a new organization and brand.
