In inpatient treatment, you’ll start recovery by undergoing detox. Medication assisted therapy is available here. This is when FDA approved methadone or Suboxone are used to help you safely wean your body off of its substance dependency. When you’re stabilized, you’ll be better able to benefit from the support offered in treatment.
During inpatient treatment, you’ll focus on building relationships with peers. You’ll also learn how to process emotions and create new healthy behaviors. There will be individual and group therapy sessions with some sessions being gender specific. You’ll also participate in neurofeedback and peer support. Twelve step meetings are an integral component to this program.
With outpatient care, you’ll have access to many of these services and others. Through peer groups, you can develop a network of support you can turn to when you encounter difficult parts in your recovery. With these supports, you can begin moving towards sustainable sobriety.
