About Allied Addiction Recovery Washington

Allied Addiction Recovery is a licensed drug and alcohol outpatient facility in Washington, Pennsylvania. The facility offers both medication assisted treatment and drug free treatment.

The professionals who work at AAR include psychiatrists, master’s level therapists, and certified alcohol and drug counselors. Clients are able to pay for their services through Medicaid, self pay, and most major insurance plans.

Medications For Stable Treatment

The facility provides two medications that may be prescribed to you to help reduce your withdrawal symptoms and manage cravings, suboxone and vivitrol. Before taking these medications, you’ll go through an evaluation to determine your specific need for medication.

Having medication can help you stay stable during treatment and reduce the chance of relapse. Allied Addiction Recovery requires all of its clients to participate in weekly counseling sessions while they receive their medication.

I like that they have clients meet with a doctor regularly to make sure they remain medically stable. Therapists and physicians will determine when you’re ready to begin tapering down the dose of your medication and eventually no longer taking it.

Outpatient Treatment in Washington, Pennsylvania

Not every patient is a good fit for medication assisted treatment. The clinic also offers outpatient treatment services that don’t involve MAT.

In the intensive outpatient program, you’ll participate in group therapy, where you’ll learn to develop personal strategies for overcoming addiction and set treatment goals. Clients can discuss their recovery journey, receive encouragement and provide support to others.

I find one of the advantages of this facility's location is it’s not far from Pittsburgh. You can take a drive up to the city and do activities such as enjoying the view from Mount Washington or visiting the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium, which are great substance free entertainment options.
