About Fresno American Indian Health Project
Fresno American Indian Health Project (FAIHP) accepts clients from all Tribal Nations and Communities with a focus on culturally based health and wellness. The native wellness program offers services for domestic violence, substance use recovery and support, and family advocacy. There are also traditional practices for healing, such as the WISE Elders group. It’s based in Fresno, California.
The facility serves over 120 tribes in the Valley due to relocation projects. The project is funded by SAMHSA and is a nonprofit program. They’ve received grants from the Circles of Care and Systems of Care. LGBTQIA+ are welcome for treatment.
Substance Use Counseling
At this facility you can receive substance abuse prevention education and counseling for current substance use. The walking program, exercise groups, and events can help you find enjoyable things to do without using substances. You can also exercise on your own in nearby Woodward Park or the community garden.
I noticed that for those who need detox, residential treatment, outpatient treatment, or medication assisted treatment (MAT), the center can refer you to a local facility. Nutrition education services with a registered dietician can help you learn healthy ways to eat.
Many substance users lose their home and end up in financial hardship situations. The center can refer you to community programs that will assist you with housing, food, and other resources.
Medical Services for all Ages
I like how you have accessible medical services at FAIHP. They can give you a physical examination, prescribe preventative medicine, diagnose and manage acute and chronic diseases, and provide immunizations. Medical services are available for your children.
Therapies and Crisis Services
Behavioral health is integrated with medical services. You can schedule individualized therapy or attend group therapy. Your family can schedule therapy sessions. Support in the event of a crisis is offered in person or via telehealth.
Therapies include eye movement and desensitization reprocessing. For children, play therapy is offered. Group therapies will cover abuse, anxiety, behavior, coping skills, depression, family conflict, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship issues, self esteem, stress, and trauma.
Addiction Treatment Programs
Typically, a young adult program in California can guide individuals from detox, through initial treatment, and extends to aftercare. Treatment gives young adults what they need to reset their lives and move to the next stage of life free from addiction.
An adult program in California uses various therapeutic methods to treat a person who is dependent on an addictive substance. Individuals aged 18 and older are eligible for treatment, which focuses on breaking the cycle of addiction and learning how to maintain sober living.
Alcohol rehab in California provides professional treatment to guide participants through each step of recovery. Programs offer a support system to walk you through challenges and celebrate victories with you, from detox to long-term sobriety.
Gender-specific addiction treatment programs may be more effective in treating men because they focus on unique needs of males. Men’s rehab in California is designed to help men process emotions and cope with stress in a judgment-free environment.
Women’s rehab in California provides a safe environment where women can work through addiction challenges surrounded by their gender peers. This often creates an environment that is more conducive to recovery.
For those who are struggling with opioid use disorder, help is available at opioid rehab in California. This complex addiction can be treated through a combination of evidence-based therapies and medication assisted treatment.
When a person is struggling with addiction, their actions and emotions may not be rational. Cognitive behavioral therapy in California helps individuals understand better why they feel and act certain ways and how those emotions and actions can lead to substance abuse.
Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.
Seniors face unique challenges that may contribute to substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders. Elderly rehab in California is designed to address these challenges to provide relevant and safe treatment for seniors.
Levels of Care
When you choose outpatient rehab in California, you will meet with a counselor and attend support group meetings. The focus will be on restructuring attitudes and thoughts to reduce cravings and develop skills to prevent relapse. The length of time in outpatient rehab varies by individual, based on their recovery needs.
When you have a co-occurring disorder, it is essential to treat both your addiction and the mental health disorder. California dual diagnosis treatment provides this type of multidisciplinary approach, for improved recovery outcomes.
Insurance
There are a number of self-pay options available for alcohol and drug rehab in California. If you can’t afford to write a check for the full cost of inpatient or outpatient treatment, personal and medical loans offer alternate ways of financing.
As a California resident with private rehab insurance, you can use your coverage to help pay for alcohol and drug addiction treatment. You may be asked to pay some costs like a co-payment or co-insurance. Check with your insurer for more information.
If you’re an in-state resident and eligible for Medicaid, you can use your coverage to assist with the cost of alcohol and drug rehab in California. Medicaid can help cover all levels of care, including detox in California, inpatient rehab in California, and more.
If you need help paying for alcohol and drug rehab, financial aid may be an option for you. Financial assistance options include grants, scholarships, non-profit programs, personal funding, and health insurance programs to help you manage the expense of substance abuse treatment.
For those who are underinsured or uninsured, paying the total cost of a rehab program up front is not feasible. Fortunately, many alcohol and drug rehabs make financing available to potential clients through private loans, in-house payment plans, or partner lenders. You can choose a finance package that lets you start treatment immediately and pay for it later.
