About Mrs. Wilson’s Treatment Center for Women

Mrs. Wilson's Halfway House is a nonprofit that dates back to 1976. They offer a residence that provides structure, guidance and support for women during their recovery from substance abuse. I really like that it’s a center founded by women, for women.

Mrs. Wilson's Treatment Center exclusively serves women 18 years and older who’ve been diagnosed with substance abuse and a secondary diagnosis of a mental health condition, such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, or eating disorders.

Supportive Outpatient and Residential Programs for Women

There are living accommodations for the initial stages of treatment which support a structured environment for women recovering from substance abuse as well as transitional living accommodations and also outpatient treatments. Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and regular outpatient treatments are offered, providing individual and group counseling up to five days a week.

Alternative Treatment Approaches

The center uses evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, trauma-focused counseling, and 12-step facilitation to help patients reach their goals.

What I really like about the center is that they also believe in holistic and alternative treatments such as Yoga, Pilates, Qigong, Ti Chi, meditation and animal interaction through therapy pets to help the patients focus their energies on healing,

Payment Options

Insurance is accepted and the center also works with New Jersey State and County assistance programs, including: New Jersey Drug Court Initiative (DCI), New Jersey’s Substance Abuse Initiative (SAI), New Jersey Driving Under the Influence Initiative (DUII) and New Jersey South Jersey Initiative (SJI).
