About Alcohol and Drug Services of Gallatin County
The Alcohol and Drug Services of Gallatin County was a program to treat substance use disorder. They were located in Bozeman, Montana. The organization was founded in 1983 and offered outpatient addiction treatment along with DUI classes and adolescent treatment. They also had sober living options and could treat co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. However, they closed in 2023.
Addiction Treatment Options in Gallatin County
When operating, the program offered evidence based therapy, relapse prevention classes, and multiple group therapy options. They had moral reconation therapy (MRT) for those with criminal histories as well as substance use disorder.
They also had Seeking Safety groups that addressed PTSD and substance use. It helped veterans and others who had suffered significant trauma. Seeking Safety is divided into 25 sections that teach skills, help participants find safety and restore lost trust and confidence.
Adolescent Treatment Services
I noticed that this organization had some unique treatment options for adolescents. There was a program addressing minors in possession (MIP), for example. The class lasted six hours and covered the impact of substance use, the law around substances, and education about personal values and decision making.
I also liked that MIP included parental involvement, where parents took a class for two hours. They learned the dangers of youth substance use as well as information about adolescent growth and independence and some strategies for moving forward constructively.
Even though The Alcohol and Drug Services of Gallatin County is closed, there are other centers and providers nearby who can assist you.
