About Albuquerque Health Services NW

The Albuquerque Health Services of North West is an addiction treatment center located in a commercial district of Albuquerque, New Mexico. They provide treatment to adults who are struggling with mental health conditions and opioid use disorders. The primary services provided are providing treatment for co-occurring conditions, chemical dependency, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

They accept Medicaid and Medicare insurance. If you’re uninsured they offer flexible payment options where you can pay daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

Intake

During the intake process, you will need to bring a form of identification and an insurance card if you’re uninsured. They will collect a blood sample, a urinalysis, and they will take your vitals to gain a better understanding of your overall health followed up by developing an individualized treatment plan with a counselor. The intake process ranges anywhere between 2-3 hours to ensure that during the time you are receiving treatment here they can provide you with the healing you need to recover and move forward.

Treatment

Life in recovery can be challenging in the beginning because of the life transition you are slowly beginning to adjust to. Their (MAT) program utilizes methadone or Suboxone to combat the discomfort you’re experiencing that could be causing distress and unmanageability. For methadone medication they will assign you a number where you can receive your daily dose. Suboxone on the other hand, will be a take home medication and during the duration of receiving care here, they will refill your prescription. Part of the treatment will consist of doing check-ins with a physician and doing urinalysis.

What stands out to me the most is their focus on helping you in regards to treatment to help you attain long-term sobriety as well as providing healing from co-occurring disorders. When you’re experiencing challenges like depression, trauma, or anxiety it can become overwhelming and stressful. They offer counseling to provide guidance from a licensed clinician who can help you develop a recovery plan, build confidence, and create a healthier lifestyle.

They also provide tools for you to use when you’re experiencing difficulties such as managing anger, strengthening problem solving skills, and how to handle triggers.
