About AK Child and Family – Maley Center
AK Child & Family Maley Center is a youth behavioral health hub in Anchorage, Alaska serving children, adolescents and young adults ages 3 to 21.
The center delivers community based and outpatient mental health services including case management, activity therapy and clinical care for youth facing emotional, behavioral and trauma related challenges.
Rooted in a trauma informed and relationship based philosophy, I like how the Maley Center meets families where they are with individualized support in both office and community settings.
Youth Behavioral Health
The Maley Center serves as the community programs and administrative hub for AK Child & Family, connecting families to Therapeutic Treatment Homes, Home Based services and the AK Child C.A.R.E.S. program.
Assessments are conducted by the Admissions Department through interviews, record gathering and level of care recommendations to match each youth with the right service track.
Care here centers on skill building, therapeutic support and family involvement in treatment planning.
Services can be delivered in the building or out in the community, depending on what best fits each family's needs, with clinical and case management support addressing underlying trauma and functional impairments.
A Child Centered Therapeutic Environment
The Activity Therapy wing is designed with young clients in mind, featuring a fully stocked playroom and snack area, technology center and sensory room.
I like that these family friendly spaces support engagement and skill development while making therapeutic work approachable for children and adolescents.

The Maley Center is located on the east side of Anchorage in an urban area with dedicated parking and public transportation access, offering both in office and community based services across greater Anchorage.

Business centers are designed to enable professionals and students to continue to participate in work or school activities without leaving the treatment facility.
In order to maintain a sense of autonomy, many private rehab facilities offer clients the ability to choose their own private rooms. The privacy and personal space ensure that the recovery process is as comfortable as possible.
Private drug rehab provides a comfortable, secure environment that allows you to focus on doing the work to get your life back on track. Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.
Recreational therapy uniquely combines therapeutic interventions with an activity, like horse-riding, hiking, wilderness therapy, basketball, tennis, or a full workout. Benefits of recreational therapy include providing a healthy way to work through the emotions of recovery, learning to build and maintain relationships, improving communication skills, and building self-esteem.
