About Sheepgate Adult and Teen Challenge of the Midlands Mens
Located in Colfax, Iowa, Adult and Teen Challenge of the Midlands is a faith based drug and alcohol addiction treatment center for adult men. Offering long term residential drug rehab, mental health evaluations, therapy, recovery support groups, Christian instruction and worship, family support services, and community based support and referrals.
As part of the International Teen Challenge Organization network of facilities, Adult & Teen Challenge of the Midlands is located in Iowa’s beautiful mineral springs on an 80 acre private resort. The inpatient program spans 12 months, during which residents engage in discipleships and character classes, and receive mentoring from peers who have been through the program. Residents are supported educationally and spiritually and may even complete their GED during treatment. They’ll also take part in hard labor, like building maintenance, landscaping, construction, and food service. During the last five months of the program, residents move to a historic home in Omaha, Nebraska, where they will learn how to reintegrate into society, find work, and a local church support group.
Adult & Teen Challenge of the Midlands is private pay, costing $20 for the application and a nonrefundable entry fee of $750. There are also fees for transportation, education, and miscellaneous items.
