About Freedom House Adult and Teen Challenge
Freedom House is a branch of Adult and Teen Challenge Oklahoma that provides a residential training program for adult women enduring life-limiting problems, including substance use disorder. The program lasts for 13+ months and aims to break the cycle of addiction with a combination of Godly coping skills, work ethics, or relational skills. It’s located in Checotah, Oklahoma.
Throughout the program, students participate in Christ-centered activities, like Bible study, spiritual retreats, and prayer, to support spiritual growth. The Bible-based curriculum helps students learn how to apply God’s Word to their lives to confront their unhealthy behaviors surrounding addiction. They also have a work therapy program where students learn job training skills and a healthy work effort. This enables them to maintain employment after they graduate.
One of the best things about the Freedom Center is its comprehensive parenting skills program. If approved, children can live at Freedom House with their mothers in the program to keep their families together and maintain relationships.
