ADF Counseling

ADF Counseling is an outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facility that also focuses on interim and aftercare support in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Along with outpatient treatment, I appreciated that this facility also prioritizes helping participants access community aids both during and after treatment.

Along with treating adults of all ages, this center also works with people diagnosed with HIV or AIDS and victims of intimate partner violence or sexual assault. ADF accepts insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, Tricare, and even self payment.

Intensive Therapeutic Support

I liked that ADF focuses on providing a wide array of therapeutic services to help people. The outpatient program is designed to be flexible to ensure that people can access care while still managing daily life. The counseling services are customized based on your assessments that you complete and can include CBT, DBT, 12 step, contingency management and even specialized counseling for anger management and previous trauma.

Emphasis on Interventions, Aftercare, and Community Resources

Another core component that makes ADF a standout facility is the emphasis on interventions, aftercare and community resource facilitation. Even before you formally begin outpatient treatment, you can access interim services which can help you stabilize if you’re in active addiction. Likewise, the aftercare program is intended to set you up for success and long term sobriety maintenance.

ADF also serves as a bridge for community resources, ensuring that you’re not left on your own after you complete the outpatient program. This means that if you need assistance securing housing, finding ongoing SUD counseling such as peer groups, or even support with securing a job, these can all be made possible through relationships with coordinating local community organizations. ADF Counseling is conveniently located less than a half hour outside of Detroit.
