About ADAPPT

Geo Group ADAPPT or Alcohol and Drug Addiction Parole and Probation Treatment is a residential program for adults to help transition people back into the community after incarceration, and it’s located in Reading, Pennsylvania.

This program is designed primarily to help build life skills and prepare them for successful integration back into regular life. This is a solely referral based program working with criminal justice agencies to support individuals on parole or probation.

Reading is a popular town in Pennsylvania with plenty of recreational outlets that are an ideal complement for an individual returning to everyday life. Downtown Reading is near City Park and Reading Public Library which can also serve as an opportunity to access community resources. Similarly, the Schuylkill River and Riverfront Park are also popular destinations for outdoor therapy and exercise.

Providing An Essential Support System After Release

The transition from being incarcerated to returning to everyday life can be hard for anyone, especially those with drug or alcohol addiction. This is why ADAPPT is an essential tool to help people build the skillsets and tools they need to avoid relapsing from a substance use disorder (SUD) and getting incarcerated again so they can maintain their independence. The program not only provides substance free and secure housing, but hosts programs designed to build self sufficiency and confidence.

Effective Case Management

Another key feature at ADAPPT that I noticed is case management support. This is designed to help connect residents with critical community resources and social services. This can even include outpatient addiction treatment if necessary.

This can also include support for co occurring disorders. ADAPPT coordinates directly with government agencies to manage fees associated with the residential program.
