About A Stepping Stone to Success Sober Living
A Stepping Stone to Success provides residential treatment to women in recovery from substance use disorders. If you’ve already completed detoxification and treatment, this option may be a great next step. It’s a place of continued structure to assist you in developing the skills needed to transition back into your community. They're based in Winter Park, Florida.
This sober living center relies heavily on the 12 Steps and peer fellowship. You’re required to go to at least 3 AA meetings per week along with mandatory Friday house meetings. Since this is an all-women’s facility, no men are allowed inside, not even visitors. New residents also can’t go out for overnight stays for the first 30 days. There are curfews every day, even on weekends.
Things to Do in Winter Park
The halfway house is situated in Winter Park, which is a vibrant city that’s known for its lakes, parks, and tree-lined streets. There are a lot of recovery meetings and support groups in this area that you can participate in to complement your path to healing. You’ll be in walking distance to shops, fitness centers, and public transportation. Be sure to consider a visit to Mead Botanical Garden and take in the nature.
An Empowering Halfway House
This program can serve as a means to help you get ready to live independently after you’ve progressed a bit in your recovery journey. You’ll be asked to be authentic during your stay and open to learning and you’ll be invited to participate in house meetings and comply with random drug and alcohol screenings. This is a structured setting but you’ll have access to staff who can step in and assist should anything come up.
Amenities and Perks
The house will provide you with the stability of a safe, comfortable, and clean environment. You’ll have a fully furnished room that may be shared or private. We like that the kitchen is modern and you’ll get to enjoy TV, WiFi and laundry facilities. Meals are not included.
The center charges $165 per week, so you’ll have to have financial support or a job. In addition, all residents perform daily chores.
