About A Dove’s Nest

A Dove’s Nest is a women’s recovery center administered by Charlotte Rescue Mission in Charlotte, North Carolina. This 120-day Christian-based residential program provides a supportive living space for adult women and their children, aged five to 11. One of the best parts is that you can access this program for free.

They strive to help you sustain sobriety, find stable housing and employment and rebuild healthy relationships. You’ll benefit from continuous support and encouragement from a dedicated team of licensed professionals. During your stay you can participate in group therapy, weekly individual counseling, life skills training, education classes, Biblical studies and peer support groups.

What stands out most to me is they provide clinical care for your children. They understand that addiction doesn’t just affect you, but also your family. They help your child begin their own therapeutic experience so you can both leave treatment with healing and a new perspective.

Another fantastic feature I noticed was their graduate opportunities. They offer multiple programs and services to keep you on track after completing their core program. You can access affordable transitional housing for up to two years. They also offer education assistance and provide access to their resources for up to 60 days to help you find employment.

My favorite is the six-month life skills program. This intensive program helps you learn vital life and vocational skills while working in their Community Matters Café. You’ll benefit from gaining real-life work experience that can help you rebuild your life in recovery.

Former clients had mixed feelings about their stay here. Many applauded them for a life-changing experience that helped them reach recovery. Others mentioned issues with stolen belongings and not receiving assistance with replacing or finding them.

Finding the best care for you typically requires casting a wide net and narrowing down options that fit your situation. Always consider multiple facilities before making your choice.
