About A Better Today Tunkhannock
A Better Today was an outpatient substance use recovery facility with facilities across seven locations in Pennsylvania, including Tunkhannock. They assisted individuals and families in achieving a more successful recovery outcome. They’ve been providing tailored addiction recovery for over 30 years. However, they have since closed.
Their care team consisted of compassionate professionals who were passionate about helping people heal. They offered general (OP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and partial hospitalization (PHP). The facility served adults, adolescents and even folks on medication assisted treatment (MAT) who did not receive outpatient care.
Tailored and Personalized Recovery
Once you arrive at this clinic, you would have undergone thorough screening and assessment. This helped the care team better understand your history with drugs and alcohol and the level of care to best serve your needs.
Your tailored care may have indicated the need for OP, IOP or PHP. Both PHP and IOP involve structured and intensive therapeutic interventions suitable for addressing moderate to severe substance use issues.
The Tunkhannock Touch
These programs mainly involved group and individual therapy with optional family sessions. In an individual session, you would have addressed personal challenges with the help of your assigned therapist. You would have worked on relapse prevention, relationship building and positive reinforcement. Group therapy fostered community engagement, peer interaction and sharing of experiences.
You would have practiced problem-solving, anger management and healthy communication with others. This encouraged a sober lifestyle and prevented relapse. This could have strengthened your support network for long-term recovery. Overall, the broader program focused on building strong coping strategies and support networks to avoid relapsing.
A Better Today helped you with essential social support services to remain laser-focused on your lasting recovery goals. They did this via referral to their partner agency. They set up referrals for food/clothing, transportation and safe housing. They also referred you to self-help groups like AA/NA, refuge support meetings and primary care.
