About Railbelt Mental Health and Addictions

Based in Nenana, Alaska, Railbelt Mental Health and Addictions provides mental health services to interior Alaska. Railbelt is a nonprofit outpatient community behavioral health center offering support for people with substance use disorders and mental health conditions.

Services include mental health counseling, psychiatric services, substance use disorder counseling, tobacco prevention and outreach, and crisis support. Patients struggling with substance use disorders are offered counseling services which include harm reduction practices and exploring social support, triggers, and relapse prevention. Pregnant people and people injecting drugs are given priority and can often expedite waiting times.

Railbelt Mental Health and Addictions is accredited by the Commission of Accreditation for Rehabilitation Services (CARF) and the Alaska Behavioral Health Association. Medicare, Medicaid, and some insurance plans are accepted. In house fee agencies also offered to help participants obtain Medicaid, Medical Assistance, and various assistance programs.
